Rio-Oranges:is a new orange-plantation cooperative offering investors and sun-seekers an opportunity to take part in a profitable and enjoyable eco-friendly enterprise in beautiful countryside near Rio de Janeiro in Brazil's rapidly expanding economy. It is not commonly known that Brazil is the world's largest producer of oranges and also the largest producer and exporter of orange juice with around 50% of global production (only 3% of which is for home consumption). The principal markets for the product are: EU - 62%, USA - 20% and Japan - 9%. The price of orange juice futures has soared on the NY Stock Exchange in the past year, whilst the price of a kilo of oranges in Brazil has tripled over the past 5 years.

In the state of Rio de Janeiro, the sub-tropical climate and the slightly sandy soil are ideal for citrus growing with daily temperatures averaging 25 - 35 degrees C and evenly distributed annual rainfall of 1.2 - 1.4M.

The soil is rich in nitrates and with good drainage and no extremes of temperature. Most of the land in this area is devoted to livestock but there is also a history of citrus growing and citrus trees flourish readily in this location. Land here is inexpensive and there is a plentiful supply of low-cost local skilled workers. The proximity to Rio makes it very accessible logistically.

Rio-Oranges is now poised to take advantage of this situation and is currently zoning and planting an area of 500,000 sq mt (over 120 acres) of undulating, sun-kissed land with excellent irrigation.

This is a unique opportunity for investors to come in on the ground floor at the beginning of the development and take advantage of the low starting prices. (See: 'Products' and 'What's New')
